James Patrick Wiseman

James Patrick Wiseman advises private equity sponsors, fund managers, and companies on fund formation, M&A, and complex corporate transactions. His practice focuses on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of investments and acquisitions across a range of industries, including infrastructure, technology, real estate, and financial services.

Prior to founding Wiseman Counsel, Mr. Wiseman advised clients on private equity fund formations, leveraged acquisitions, minority investments, and portfolio company matters. His experience spans the full transaction lifecycle, from initial structuring through execution and post-closing matters.

Mr. Wiseman can advise on transactions across multiple jurisdictions, having been admitted to practice in Texas, New York, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Wiseman earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School in 1999. He received his B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Cornell University.
